Depth of Field:
This picture was taken very close up at a microscopic level. Therefore the picture cam out really clear. It has a nice sharp focus. This means that the picture has a deep depth of field. This adds to the picture because of parts of it would have been blurring it would have taken away from the image and made things distant. I like that this shot has a clear deep depth of field.
Exposure:
For this picture since it was the hdr image it combined different exposed images. I used one that was under exposed, one over exposed, and one with normal exposure. Over all I like the exposure in this image. I changed the lighting in the picture to make things more interesting. This changed the overall look of the exposure of the image. However I like the editing and think it improves the exposure of the image.
Lighting:
I toke this picture outside. Therefore, the picture has a nice look of natural lighting. In photoshop I changed the lighting so that it was darker outside of the heart and lighter inside. I like the look that this gives to the image. I think it helps improve the image and create more interesting lighting.
Lines:
Theres a couple differnt lines that are in this picture. The main lines are of course the lines of the that the stones make to creat the heart. I think thse lines help draw the looker into the picture and see the heart. The other lines that I like in this picture are the lines on the stone out lining the heart, alond the edge of the picture. I think these lines help improve the image because they creat a frame for the picture and draw the looker into the image to see the heart.
Color:
The coloring of this image was actually hard to get write. Without editing the photo looked flat and blah. The only colors were the greys of the stones and dusty browns and reds. After, creating higher contrast and vibrance the image seems to come to life more. The colors of the leaves between the main stone pop out and the dusty redish brown has more color and life. Over all the realistic coloring and improvements i did in photoshop really helped create a great image.
Composition:
I used some differnt types of compostional elements throughout this image. For example one techinque that I created in photoshop was the use of light and dark. I created this by making the outer area of the heart darker while focusing the lighter areas in the center. This helped improve the image becasue the lookers eye naturally goes to the lighter parts of the image, in this case the heart. Another compostional element that I used was finding a clear center of interest. You can obviously see that the main center of interest is the heart.
This picture has a deep depth of field. There is a lot of detail in the picture and this depth of field helps to show that detail. This helps to show every part of the picture and doesn’t take any importance away from it. If the photo had a shallow depth of field the blurriness would take away part of the photo.
ReplyDeleteThe exposure is perfect. I love how the inside of the heart is underexposed compared to the outside. It gives more focus to the heart. I really think that this editing benefits to the photo because without this change I think the photo would be a lot more boring.
The lighting is really good. Again like I said in the previous paragraph I like how the lighting is different in different parts of the picture. I also like the shadows a lot. The brightness on the rocks and the shadows in the crevices make this photograph interesting. I can tell that its natural lighting.
The lines are pretty good. I think that if the lines on the outside of the photo were straighter it could of improved this photo. It just looks a little crooked when I look at it. I love the lines in the heart and the inconsistency in the rocks. It’s a good use of composition.
The colors are really good. The main colors are in the rocks. It has a very calm mood to it. The main colors in the photograph are cool and calming. I also like how you can see the colors in the rocks that are dug into the ground.
The composition is good. The only suggestion I would make is to straighten the picture more. I like how the square is framing the heart. My focus first goes to the center of the heart because it is lighter than the rest of the photo. This is a good composition technique.
depth of field: this picture has a deep depth of field, the picture has lots of detail, and is a sharp image. i think that its good that it has a deep depth of field. without it, parts of the picture would be blurry, and it wouldn't portray the feeling it has. the detail in it is great, so why would you take that away.
ReplyDeleteExposure: in this project we took three different exposures and combined them into one. she used one that was under exposed, over exposed and at normal exposure. you can tell in the editing process she played around with the exposure. the inside of the heart is brighter than the rest of the image which i think makes it pop and draws your attention
Lighting: I'm pretty sure this picture was taken outside, therefor she used outdoor lighting. i previously stated that she played around with the lighting in photoshop giving the picture a unique and creative feeling.
Lines: the obvious lines in this picture are the stones that create the heart. since the stones aren't all the same the line that they create is interesting and draws your eyes around the whole thing looking at each individual rock. other lines in the picture are those of the stones that the heart is on, i like these lines because it frames the image. i think that they could've been a little bit straighter though, that could've been fixed with the position the camera was in.
colors: i really like the use of colors in this picture. i like how the majority of the picture has dark brown and black tones. but then the rocks are all bright whites, grays, and blues. it helps the viewer pick out the main subject and focus before moving on to look at the background. she used realistic colors.
composition: rule of thirds is a major compositional element in this picture, the large stone that the heart is place on practically follows all of the lines. one of the best composition technique she used was the use of light and dark. she did a great job having your eyes go straight to the focus of the picture, which is the heart.
