Portrait

Top picture: environment
middle: posed
bottom: candid

Environment:
Depth of Field: This picture has a pretty deep depth of field. A deep depth of field is when the picture is completely sharp and clear.  Jacob, my main subject, is sharp and in focus. This shot is similar to a landscape shot, therefore most things in the background are sharp. However, as you do move father back there seems to be less sharpness in the depth of field.
Exposure: For this image I used a pretty high exposure. It was very bright out and we were also taken action shots. Therefor I used a high exposure throughout the shoot to make sure I wasn't letting in to much light. I really like the overall look of the exposure in this image. I think that their is a good amount of light.
Lighting: Throughout this shot I used natural lighting. This is because we toke the pictures outside to improve the environment of this picture. I think that the sun was a good lighting source. In the dark room, I had to use the dodging technique to get the right amount of lighting. I exposed the paper for a period of time and then I covered the image except the sky area. The sky was so bright and needed to be exposed for more time to get more coloring, however I need less light down by the field, because of the dark shadows. Overall I think the technique worked in my benefit and I really like the overall image.

Panorama study

360 panorama, top picture
depth of field:
This picture is a landscape picture. Therefore it has a pretty sharp focus. This means that everything in the image is sharp and clear. This is true throughout most of this image, however, there are some trees in the background that seem to blur slightly. Overall, there is a deep depth of field in this image.
Exposure:
For this image I used a automatic exposure. Therefor the picture was taken at a zero exposure. In photoshop I brightened the picture and created a higher exposure. I think that this change created a happier feeling to the image, because before the lighting was a little dull and drab. However, changing the brightness created some problems. Since the lighting was different in some areas when I toke the image when I changed the brightness it got lighter in some areas and stayed darker in other areas.
Lighting:
As I stated in the Exposure, the lighting was tricky in this image. When I toke the images the way the sun was coming down changed the brightness in different areas making the image look like the lighting is changing throughout. I like the look of this because, it creates a cool feeling to the image. However, i don't like this because it could be distracting to the eye. I used natural lighting on all the images used
Lines:
One main line in the image is the horizon line going across the image. This line improves the image by splitting the grass and trees. It also creates a good landscape image. Other lines that are created are the lines that the trees make. All these lines help create a better and more interesting image.
Colors:
The colors in this image is realistic coloring. Throughout there are vibrant colors found in nature. You can see these colors from the green grass to the orange leaves. In photoshop I created a higher vibrance to the image. I think that this created a happier feeling to the image.
Composition:
There are a couple different elements of composition throughout. The orange leaved tree in on the right side of the image creates a good use of the three thirds rule. I think that this adds a really interesting element into the image. Another composition element is have a horizontal line and splitting the image in that way. Overall I like the composition in this image.
